Family Support and Wellbeing
We have a fantastic Family Support Worker in school who can support you with any difficulties you may be having at home.
Mrs Hill has introduced the work she can do to support our families in her own words below:
Hello, my name is Mrs Hill and I am the Family Support Worker at Brigstock Latham’s Primary School. My other roles within the school include Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) and Attendance Officer. As a school, we pride ourselves on supporting the wellbeing of our children and their families.
The purpose of my role is to support both children and their families with any struggles they may have. I am always on hand for a chat, so please feel free to contact me at school to discuss any worries you may have.
There are various ways in which I can support children and families:
-
Wellbeing and emotional support activities including:
-
Emotional Literacy Support (ELSA)
-
Drawing and Talking
-
Protective Behaviours
-
Parenting and co-parenting advice
-
Signposting and liaison with other agencies
-
Support with navigating changes within the family and communicating these to your children
-
A listening ear
-
Behaviour management advice
-
Co-ordination of Early Help Assessments
My emotional support sessions for children can cover struggles, such as, bereavement, friendships, family break up, resilience, anger, anxiety, to name but a few. I work closely with all staff and the school SENCO and DSL to provide the best support for the children.
Feel free to contact me via the school office.
